There are cars that change a room the moment they enter. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is one of them. When its characteristic wing doors open upwards, the surroundings hold their breath for a brief moment. This is exactly what will happen from June 12 to 14, 2026 – on one of the most emotional stages in the world of motorsport: the ADAC Nürburgring Classic.

More than just a car – an icon with history
The SLS AMG was the first Mercedes with a folding roof since the legendary 300 SL, which was built from 1954 to 1957. It was the first vehicle developed independently by AMG – and every engine was hand-assembled by a single skilled worker at the AMG factory in Affalterbach, documented by a plaque with a engraved signature. No assembly line, no compromise – pure craftsmanship.
Under the long hood sits the M 159 – a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 571 hp, positioned as a front-mid engine behind the front axle. This arrangement noticeably improves driving dynamics. It takes only 3.8 seconds from zero to 100 km/h, and the top speed is 315 km/h. Anyone who has ever heard the sound of this V8 engine at high revs will never forget it.
Produced from 2010 to 2014, the SLS AMG is today a sought-after collector's car with used prices ranging from 170,000 to 250,000 euros – with a rising trend. The limited Final Edition was only built 350 times.

A club, a track, a moment
For the Nürburgring Classic 2026, the SLS AMG Club is gathering for an extraordinary gathering. The schedule includes track days on the Grand Prix course and a special run on the legendary Nordschleife – one of the most demanding circuits in the world. It is rare to see such a density of these vehicles in one place – and even more so in this setting.
The Nürburgring Classic is not just a tribute to historic race cars; it is also the perfect stage for automobiles that have long since written history through their character, sound, and charisma.
