Since its debut at the ADAC Nürburgring Classic, the touring car Golden Era has in a short time developed into a fixture of historic touring car racing. What began in 2022 as a standalone format for legendary touring cars stands today for authentic motorsport, a wide variety of vehicles, and the return of a defining era of touring car racing.

The focus is not on simply showcasing historical vehicles; instead, there is genuine competition on the race track. The format combines spectacular racing technology with vehicles that have written motorsport history and continue to evoke a high degree of fascination to this day.
Legendary touring cars from DRM, DTM and international series
The Golden Era touring car series combines original vehicles with authentically recreated racing cars from the most important touring car series of their time. These include vehicles from the German Touring Car Championship (DRM), the DTM, the Super Touring Car Championship (STW), and international series such as the ETCC and WTCC.
Many of the vehicles used were already in active service for well-known private and factory teams during their active careers. Today, their owners meticulously restore, maintain, and continue to bring them „ready to race“ to the track. This close connection to history creates a particularly authentic motorsport experience.
Over 50 touring cars will provide a dense field of starters in 2026
For the ADAC Nürburgring Classic 2026, visitors can expect once again to see one of the strongest fields of the weekend. More than 50 touring cars from different eras and regulations form an exceptionally dense starting field.
Fans experience the series especially vividly during the Grid Walk, where they encounter the vehicles and drivers directly. The atmosphere on-site makes the fascination of the Golden Age of touring car racing palpable – loud, direct, and emotionally engaging on equal terms.
