The highlights of the Nürburgring Classic 2025
The various international and national series and content as programme highlights create a great variety on the race weekend on 13 - 15 May 2025.
In planning:
Boss GP
The "fastest series in Europe" features an exciting field of large and powerful formula racing cars from past years. Get up close and personal at the Grid Walk on Saturday and Sunday.
FJHRA / Historic Formula Junior / Lurani Trophy
The formula racing cars of the early years around 1960 with front engines and the first rear engines. Some still with drum brakes. An absolute historical highlight.
Tourenwagen „Golden Ära“
More than 50 racing cars from the DTM, DRM, STW and ETCC make up a highly interesting starting field. The Grid Walk on Saturday and Sunday invites you to pay a brief visit to the starting grid.
Kampf der Zwerge
The "little ones" come up trumps! NSU TT, Mini Cooper, Fiat Abarth and co compete for places in joint races but in different divisions.
Youngtimer Trophy
Europe's historic racing series with the most participants also stops off at the Nürburgring Classic. Real racing in now almost historic racing cars.
Prewar meeting in the historic paddock from 1927
Big vintage meeting of pre-war classic cars with rides on the Nordschleife and the elephant race on the GP circuit as the highlight with grid walks on Saturday.
GLP Track Masters
Regularity runs on the Grand Prix circuit demand precision from the drivers in the competition for the most accurate setting and confirmation times.
Club meeting in the paddock
Various clubs and IGs use the race event for annual meetings in a special setting. The traditionally strongly represented Fords Capri Club presents itself in a special run on the GP track.
Historic Championship '65 and '81
The FHR HC-65 series brings together GTs from the 50s and 60s in sprint races. GTs, touring and racing sports cars built up to 1981 compete in endurance races in the HC-81.
Historic Monoposto Racing
The formula cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s still show in exciting races today that they were much more than "just" the junior class for drivers entering the motorsport circus.
The Nürburgring Classic - an authentic journey through time
In 2017, the Nürburgring celebrated its 90th birthday. The "Nürburgring Classic" was launched on the same day as an international motorsport meeting for historic vehicles on the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife and has been delighting visitors and participants for years.
The legendary Nürburgring in the Eifel region - without question the most famous racetrack in the world - fascinated racing heroes in 1927 just as it does fans, curious spectators and active drivers today. Following the anniversary kick-off in 2017, the Nürburgring Classic takes place every year in early summer.
The Nordschleife, the Grand Prix circuit, the historic paddock and the Grand Prix paddock - will become the venue for old races, club meetings and an incomparable journey through time with the fresh classic format. The conceptual sponsor of the Nürburgring Classic as a "race event" is the DAMC 05 e.V. association, which was already involved in the organisation of the inaugural race in 1927.
Great variety of the good old motorsport days
The FHR - Fahrergemeinschaft Historischer Rennsport - is taking part, the German Touring Car Golden Era is starting, the pre-war cars are returning, the Youngtimer Trophy is involved, the Boss GP is coming and more than 18 races and special races will ensure a thrilling programme on the tracks.
In June 2018, more than 20,000 enthusiastic visitors attended the second edition of the historic motorsport meeting. Guests, fans, friends and classic car owners came - using the Eifel circuit as an excursion destination and for a weekend break with octane character. In 2019, the positive trend of the still young event continued and almost 25,000 visitors were fascinated by the colourful mixture of time travel, tough racing, old heroic images and classic classic car popular sport with a family character. After the forced break in the Corona years, the enthusiasm has continued unabated since 2022.
A permanent fixture in the calendar
The programme with many highlights once again includes many areas and starting fields that are extremely popular - and of course there will also be many special opportunities to experience the teams and vehicles up close. This is what makes the Nürburgring Classic a "race event".
The pits in the Grand Prix paddock are always open, access to all paddocks is always included in the admission fee and numerous grid walks offer the opportunity to be a guest on the starting grid of the races and special races before the start and to get a taste of real "racing air" on the starting straight - with the spectator gates open - just like in motorsport then and now. Immerse yourself in tangible racing history at the traditional circuit in the Eifel.
Races of the Touring Car Golden Era
As part of the Nürburgring Classic 2022, the "Touring Car Golden Era" event format was revamped. In the years that followed, this organiser-supported racing series developed into an absolute crowd favourite. In 2024, full starting fields were the result in almost all 6 races. The Touring Car Golden Era will continue to thrill spectators in 2025. Prominent drivers often take to the wheel during the DTM period and fight for positions.
No other historic racing series features so many old vehicle-driver combinations from the good old DTM era.
Weekend Heroes - be there yourself
"Be a racing driver for a weekend" is the call to all gentlemen drivers with classic cars and all hobby classic car enthusiasts and club members.
The GLP Track Masters (regularity tests) on the Grand Prix circuit and Nürburgring Experience runs on the Nordschleife are a definite speciality of the Nürburgring Classic. Here, ambitious classic car owners have the chance to compete even without elaborately converted racing cars.
The aim is to become a driver with like-minded people on the world's most legendary race track, and this "plan" guarantees an eventful weekend full of fun and pure emotion.
