In 2017, the "Nürburgring Classic" had its premiere - on the occasion of the anniversary of "90 years Nürburgring". In subsequent years, the Nürburgring Classic will have a fixed place in the annual calendar of historic motorsport events at the Nürburgring. Usually the date is in mid-June in memory of the official opening race of the traditional circuit in 1927. The motorsport meeting is designed as an annually recurring event.

The Nürburgring Classic breaks new ground. Historic motorsport and the classic passion of many owners and fans come together. Anyone who owns a classic car can be part of it and start in different heats and event parts even without much effort itself. The impression of sportiness with historic vehicles for everyone! The Nürburgring Classic is not a competition to existing classic car meetings at the Ring, but it wants to be a new fresh format. Historic motorsport with its heroes, its charm and the images of the "good old days" will again become close, tangible and provide many emotions and memories.

The classic car hobby is not just a "man's thing". The Eifel beckons for a family outing - the Nürburgring Classic beckons for family time...and not just for time travel and motorsports. Dealer areas and cafe island provide a variety of stops for breaks while walking through the paddock. There is the children's area (4 - 12 years) of the "Nürburgring Classic Kids" with children's activities and play opportunities to rest and linger and of course "dad also drives in races", in the special runs and regularity races - you can go to the starting grid, be there up close. Boredom is out of place here.

Exciting variety between races and demonstration runs as well as regularity competitions characterize the Nürburgring Classic. Factory museums show race cars "in the wild", the historic DTM cars inspire as well as the pre-war cars or the Dunlop Endurance Championship with runs of the FHR and Youngtimer. Children and young racing fans up to 17 years of age are admitted free of charge. All tickets again include admission to the ring°werk as a special bonus, with exhibitions on the history of the Nürburgring, cinema and interactive presentations about the race track and its past and present. The ring°werk ticket otherwise costs at least 9.90 euros - only at the Nürburgring Classic is it already included as a visitor-friendly additional bonus in the ticket.
