The DNA of the series: motorsport just like in the old days
The Historic F3 1000 cc European Trophy embodies purist formula racing without modern aerodynamics or electronic aids. The series features faithfully restored cars that offer an authentic driving experience and preserve the technical simplicity of the 1960s.
The focus is not only on competition, but also on community: drivers from across Europe come together for events characterised in equal measure by sporting ambition and a friendly atmosphere. Originality and historical accuracy are also clearly at the forefront.

History and origins
The series was launched in 2001 with the aim of bringing the first generation of Formula 3 cars, fitted with 1000cc engines, back onto the racetrack.
These cars date from the period between 1964 and 1970 – an era in which Formula 3 was regarded as the key junior category. Many future Formula 1 stars began their careers right here, which is why the series is now regarded as a rolling motorsport museum.

Vehicles & Legends of the Past
Only original or faithfully restored Formula 3 racing cars with 1000cc engines from the years 1964 to 1970 are eligible to compete. Typical manufacturers include Brabham, Lotus, Chevron, March and Tecno. The cars are often referred to as ‘Screamers’ – a reference to the high-revving, production-based engines that define the characteristic sound of this era.
These cars were once driven by future motorsport legends, including Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, James Hunt and Ronnie Peterson. The series therefore offers not only historic technology, but also a direct link to the careers of great racing drivers.
