This year, the YOUNGTIMER TROPHY can celebrate a special anniversary. The successful series of touring cars and GTs - for more than 30 years on the race tracks of Germany and the neighbouring countries it is impossible to imagine life without it.
30 years of success as a racing series
The spectrum of vehicles ranges from the smallest touring cars such as the NSU TT, which already provided action at the end of the 60s, to the Group 5 Porsche from the DRM era, to the BMW M3 or Mercedes Benz 190E, which caused a stir in the great DTM era at the end of the 80s.
The idea of popular sport is not neglected here. Even with a smaller budget, you can have fun in the YOUNGTIMER TROPHY. In the 2-litre class of Group A cars, for example, there are usually more than 20 vehicles on the road.
Diversity is one of the great strengths of the YOUNGTIMER TROPHY
Here, for example, you can bring an Opel Kadett E or a VW Golf 2 to the starting line and compete for the championship. The 3-series BWM of the E36 series is also currently a vehicle that many beginners use in this attractive series.
Normally, the races of the YOUNGTIMER TROPHY go over a distance of one hour, with the races on the Nordschleife lasting 2, 3 and 6.5 hours and far beyond.
In the context of the Nürburgring Classic, two sprint races of 30 minutes each are on the agenda as a novelty in the calendar.
