Sprint races for GTs and racing sports cars from the 50s and 60s

It was an era of new beginnings in motor racing. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, European car manufacturers were focussing on new developments and demonstrating their vehicles at international events. It was a time when racing drivers still drove their racing cars to the track on their own axles, when small private teams with innovative designs were able to leave established works teams in their wake.

An exciting competition with fantastic sports cars

Mercedes-Benz competed with the huge gullwing doors and racing versions developed from them, Jaguar was the first to try disc brakes and the young company Lotus focused on lightweight construction with small engines. The different concepts competed in major races such as Le Mans, Spa and the Nürburgring and fought for overall or class victories.

The "Historic Championship '65" racing series, which was launched in 2015, now enjoys a large fan base. The series is open to GTs and racing sports cars built between 1947 and 1965, divided into drum and disc brakes and engine capacity.
