Dear friends of motorsport, we have to sadly inform you today that Mrs Karin Kölzer passed away on 17 September 2024. The fact that Karin was rarely present in recent weeks and months has not gone unnoticed by you.
It is difficult for us to find the right words, because Karin's death leaves a void that will not be easy to fill. We will simply miss Karin. But today we would like to speak not only in sorrow, but also in gratitude. Gratitude for all that she gave us in her life - both professionally and personally. We had assumed that Karin's illness would be brought under control. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday in the presence of her husband Jo Schmitz.
In the many conversations we have had, Karin has repeatedly expressed one wish, namely that we continue with the ADAC 1000 km race, the Nürburgring Classic and the Youngtimer Trophy as we started years ago.
We want to fulfil her wish and let her live on in our memories as someone who lived her passion for motorsport to the very last moment.
