The Historic Championship '65 brings one of the most traditional racing series back to the Nürburgring. As part of the Nürburgring Classic 2025, visitors can expect a spectacular journey back in time to the golden era of motorsport. Rare and legendary vehicles such as the Mercedes 300SL, Ferrari Testarossa, Jaguar C- and E-Type, Austin Healey, Porsche 356 and 550, Lotus, Cobra, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and many more will be brought back to life in the Eifel.
Sprint race with legends of the 50s and 60s
The series is aimed at GTs and racing sports cars built between 1947 and 1965 and is divided into classes according to brake type (drum or disc) and engine capacity, where technological diversity meets sporting passion. What characterises this era is the spirit of new beginnings: racing drivers who drove their cars to the track themselves, small workshops that challenged large teams - all of this becomes tangible again in the Historic Championship '65.
Constructions with character - competition with style
This series pits concepts against each other that could hardly be more different. Mercedes impressed with its gullwing cars and their racing versions, Jaguar revolutionised racing with disc brakes, while Lotus focused on lightweight construction with small, agile engines. Today, as in the past, this diversity ensures thrilling races at the highest level.
